2018 Joint Review Meeting on the 4th Bhutan – Thailand Development Cooperation Programme (2017-2019) from 20-22 March 2018 in Bangkok- March 27, 2018

Thailand hosted the 2018 Joint Review Meeting on the 4th Bhutan – Thailand Development Cooperation Programme (2017-2019) from 20-22 March 2018 in Bangkok.

Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephitak, Director – General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs led the delegation from Thailand comprising of representatives from the Universities and associated Institutes. Dasho Karma Tshiteem, Chairperson, Royal Civil Service Commission led the Bhutanese delegation.

The meeting focused on Human Resources Development and Friends from Thailand Programme (FFT). Updates were also shared on other projects like the Capacity Building for the College of Natural Resources (CNR), One Gewog One Product (OGOP), and Solid Waste Management.

The Thailand-Bhutan Development Cooperation Programme (2017-2019), Thailand supports the RGOB by providing 50 Long-Term Training scholarships per year (full support: 20 scholarships, cost – sharing: 30 scholarships) and 45 short-term training scholarships per year (full support: 20 fellowships, cost – sharing: 25 fellowships).

Currently, there are 6 volunteers under FFT working in several sectors, namely Thai Language Instructor, Computer Hardware Repair and Networking Instructor, Marketing Officer, 3D Portrait Making (Sculpture) Instructor, and Labour and Human Resources.
The Royal Civil Service Commission is very thankful to the Government of Thailand and in particular, TICA for being very responsive to our specific needs.
