I Stipend

In view of the US dollar depreciation over the years and the difficulties faced by students on longer-term study period, the Royal Civil Service Commission approved the revision of stipend of the following countries. The RGOB stipend rate and other allowances shall be pegged to the local (donor) rate and pay stipend in local currency at par with local donor rate. The following stipend rates shall be applied and are subject to change:

1 Australia

1^st month : A$2193.00

Subsequent months : A$1408.00

Book allowance : To be met from the stipend

DSA (US$) : 1 day on arrival

Tuition fee : As required by the institutes

Cost of Thesis/Dissertations/Projects : Actual on submission of

original receipts

Note: Since the RGOB stipend rate for Australia is pegged with the AusAID rate, the RGOB rate shall be reviewed by the RCSC upon revision of the AusAID stipend rate.

2 Canada

1^st month : C$1750.00

Subsequent months : C$1150.00

Book allowance : C$300 per term

DSA (US$) : 1 day on arrival

Tuition fee : As required by the institutes

Cost of Thesis/Dissertations/Projects : Actual on submission of

original receipts.

Note: Since the RGOB stipend rate for Canada is pegged with the CIDA rate, the RGOB rate shall be reviewed by the RCSC upon revision of the CIDA stipend rate.

3 Netherlands

1^st month : Euro870.00

Subsequent months : Same

Personal allowance : Euro45 single payment

Book allowance : To be met from stipend

DSA (US$) : 1 day on arrival

Tuition fee : As required by the institutes

Cost of Thesis/Dissertations/Projects : Actual on submission of

original receipts.

Note: Since the RGOB stipend rate for the Netherlands is pegged with the NFP rate, the RGOB rate shall be reviewed by the RCSC upon revision of the NFP stipend rate.

4 United States of America

1^st month : US$2100.00

Subsequent months : US$1100.00

Book allowance : US$60 per month

DSA : 1 day on arrival

Tuition fee : As required by the institutes

Cost of Thesis/Dissertations/Projects : Actual on submission of

original receipts

Annexure II

II Ceiling on the duration of Field Trip during Studies/ Trainings

The Royal Civil Service Commission has approved the following:

1. In the case of medical doctors, only 21 days of field trip shall be taken into consideration in a year for the purpose of DSA payment;

2. In the case of other professionals, only 14 days of field trip shall be taken into consideration in a year for the purpose of DSA payment; and

3. In both situations under serial No. (1) and (2), the rate of DSA shall be equivalent to 50% of the DSA prescribed for the particular country or place.

However, the payment of DSA shall be subject to the following preconditions:

(i) Prior approval of the Royal Civil Service Commission;

(ii) Duly signed and sealed certification from the University or Institute stating that the field trip is an integral part of the curriculum without which the course shall be considered as incomplete; and

(iii) Duly signed and sealed field trip programme.
