Meeting of the Chiefs of Public/Civil Service Commission of SAARC Member States- March 28, 2016
The Fifth Meeting of the Chiefs of Public/Civil Service Commission of SAARC Member States is being organized by the Royal Civil Service Commission and will be held at the Banquet Hall in Thimphu from 28-30 March, 2016.
The inaugural session of the Meeting on March 28, 2016 will be graced by Chief Justice of Bhutan and other senior officials from the Civil Service.
The meeting is an annual event hosted by SAARC member countries. This is the first time Bhutan is hosting the meeting of the Public/Civil Service Commission. It will be attended by the Chairpersons and other senior delegates of the Public/Civil Service Commissions of the eight SAARC member countries and representatives from SAARC Secretariat.
The main purpose of the meeting is to learn and share the best practices in public/civil service administration and management. The central theme of this year meeting is “Performance Management for Public Sector Excellence”. Such a theme aligns with the broad reforms initiated across civil service agencies by the present Commission. The Commission will be sharing the new initiatives undertaken to improve the current system of managing performance in the Royal Civil Service besides learning from the experiences of other countries.
